Trellix Appoints Joseph Tal to Lead Advanced Research Centers
Trellix has appointed Joseph Tal as Senior Vice President for the Trellix Advanced Research Center and General Manager for Trellix Israel. Tal will lead Trellixs global team of security analysts, developers, and researchers to provide real-time intelligence and advance customer outcomes. Tal has previous experience in cybersecurity and research, having led Citigroups Global Cyber Security Innovation Labs and worked at IBM. The Trellix Advanced Research Center aims to deliver insightful and actionable intelligence to address emerging threats.

FireEye & McAfee Enterprise Renamed as Trellix
The merger of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye has resulted in the creation of a new company called Trellix. Trellix aims to become a force in the field of extended detection and response (XDR) and focuses on living security that learns and adapts to protect against advanced threats. Symphony Technology Group (STG) acquired McAfee Enterprise for $4 billion and later bought FireEyes products business for $1.2 billion. Trellix will have 5,000 employees, over 40,000 customers, and nearly $2 billion in revenue. Bryan Palma, former EVP of FireEyes products business, has been appointed CEO. The XDR platform uses machine learning and automation for threat detection and response. Some technology from the merger will be launched separately as McAfees Enterprise Secure Service Edge (SSE) portfolio.
