Israel's Brevel and Vgarden Team Up to Add Taste to the Alt.Cheese Market
Brevel, an Israel-based company, has partnered with plant-based food manufacturer Vgarden to develop non-dairy cheese. Vgarden currently uses pea or wheat protein in their products, but they are looking for a protein alternative that does not affect the taste of their mild-tasting cheeses. Brevels algae-based microprotein is expected to provide a solution for this. The partnership aims to create top-notch vegan cheeses that closely resemble their dairy counterparts in taste and texture. Vgarden plans to incorporate Brevels protein in all of their cheeses, including mozzarella and cheddar. They also have plans to enter the U.S. market and are in negotiations with sales and distribution companies. The partnership between Brevel and Vgarden is expected to drive growth for both companies.

Israeli plant-based vegan food company to build production facility in Australia
Vgarden, an Israeli plant-based food company, is partnering with an Australian company to build its first overseas production facility in Brisbane. The facility will replace a traditional dairy product processing plant and is expected to employ 50 people. Vgarden already has major international restaurants and food suppliers as customers, including Papa Johns, Dominos Pizza, and Pizza Hut. The global vegan food market is predicted to grow from $26.16 billion in 2021 to $61.35 billion in 2028. Vgarden is owned by Kibbutz Gan Shmuel and Hadar Food Technology Ltd.

Leumi Partners invests in vegan products co Vgarden
Leumi Partners, the investment arm of Bank Leumi, is investing NIS 55 million in Vgarden, a producer of vegan cheese and meat alternatives. The investment will be used for product development and expansion of Vgardens international activity. Vgarden, owned by Kibbutz Gan Shmuel and Hadar Food Technology Ltd, has seen sales grow by 50% in 2020 compared to 2019, and more than doubled in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020. The company is also setting up a factory in Australia to produce vegan cheeses.
