New Israeli-made mask claims to offer best protection yet against coronavirus
An Israeli scientist has invented a mask called ViriMASK that blocks 99.25% of coronavirus-sized particles, surpassing the effectiveness of N95 masks. The mask is sealed all around the face and has a dense filter, providing better protection for medical professionals and others at high risk of exposure to the virus. It covers the eyes, nose, and mouth, protecting all potential channels of infection. The mask has been released for sale and has already sold 10,000 units. It recently completed an assessment that confirmed its effectiveness in blocking particles. The mask requires a filter change after 60 hours of use and is designed for good airflow and easy breathing. The inventor hopes it will become standard-issue protection in hospitals worldwide.

New ventilator mask protects entire face from coronavirus
Israeli medical-device company HemaClear has developed the ViriMASK Protective Oculo-Respirator, a device that covers the eyes, nose, and mouth to protect against the coronavirus. The device can be washed and reused, with filters that need to be replaced after 12 hours of use. The cost is expected to be around $50, including a pack of two filters. HemaClear plans to start efficacy testing in mid-April and aims to produce 1,000 units per day, ramping up to 100,000 units per day within four months. The company is accepting pre-orders for the ViriMASK on its website.
