Wahaha Overview

The Hangzhou Wahaha Group is a private group of companies, and the largest beverage producer in China. Wahaha has roughly 150 subsidiary companies and 60 manufacturing bases scattered throughout China. In 2017 Wahaha signed a letter of intent with the University of Haifa in Israel and the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to jointly set up an artificial intelligence research center. The center will work toward commercialization of artificial intelligence.

Israel and China sign $10 million technology deal

Three Israeli-Chinese artificial intelligence technology centers are to be built in Haifa, Hangzhou and Beijing, following an agreement signed by the University of Haifa, the Hangzhou Wahaha Group and the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The centers, which will be financed by Hangzhou Wahaha Group Chairman and CEO Zong Qinghou, will develop and industrialize technologies from the University of Haifa and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The agreement marks the Hangzhou Wahaha Groups first step into academia and research.
