Yitran Technologies Overview

Yitran Technologies is a fabless semiconductor company and provider of Powerline Communication technology for command and control applications. These applications include Energy Management, Demand Response, Automated Meter Reading/Management (AMM/AMR), Home/Building Automation, Switching and Lighting, Appliances, HVAC control and what is lately defined as Internet Of Things (IOT). Yitran designs, develops and markets integrated circuits that utilize existing power lines and eliminate the need for a costly, dedicated communication infrastructure. Yitran’s narrowband PLC modem chips feature PHY (Physical), MAC, and Networking Layers on a SoC (System on a Chip) device.

Tower launches powerline communications chip with Yitran

Independent specialty foundry Tower Semiconductor will manufacture a new line of chips for Yitran Communications. Yitran develops powerline communications technology, and Tower will manufacture Yitrans new IT700 module. The chip is geared toward command and control applications and is expected to see significant market growth. Tower Semiconductor completed an acquisition of Jazz Technologies in September.
