Yonatan Stern Overview

Yonatan Stern is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. After completing his army service, he founded Rosh Intelligence Systems along with friends. With Yonatan as CEO, Rosh developed artificial intelligence tools to help field service engineers diagnose, fix and maintain complex technological equipment. In 1993, Yonatan left Rosh to found CardScan, a company that sold a small scanner designed to scan and read business cards while automatically building a searchable address book on a PC. In 2006, CardScan was sold to DYMO, which is still selling CardScans today. In 2000, Yonatan founded ZoomInfo to explore the possibility of crawling the internet in order to extract information about people and companies from free text. It spun another company to shareholders, called Bizo, which allowed targeting advertising. In 2014, Bizo was acquired by LinkedIn for $175 Million. In 2017 ZoomInfo was acquired by Private Equity group Great Hill Partners for $240 Million. After the acquisition, he stayed on as CEO and Chief Scientist of ZoomInfo until August 2018, at which point he stepped down to focus on YLabs initiatives and remained a shareholder and board member. Six months later, in February of 2019, ZoomInfo was acquired again, this time by its biggest competitor DiscoverOrg. Yonatan then moved to build the SmartUp Academy, where he invests and teaches founders the profession of building a company. DiscoverOrg, a business data analysis company, has acquired its competitor Zoominfo from Great Hill. The acquisition was made for a value higher than half a billion dollars, with TheMarker reporting the amount as $800 million. Zoominfo, founded by Israeli entrepreneur Yonatan Stern, offers a platform for searching information about businesses and business people. The company holds a database of over 100 million business contacts worldwide. DiscoverOrgs CEO, Henry Schuck, stated that the Israeli center will continue to be the companys development hub. The merged company now employs a total of 1,050 employees, with 50 of them in Israel.

Servicesoft, Founded in Israel, Sold to Broadbase Software of US for $645 Mln

Servicesoft, a company created from the merger of two Israeli companies, has been acquired by US company Broadbase Software for an estimated $645 million. The acquisition was valued at 36.5% of Broadbases shares. Servicesoft had planned to raise $75 million in April but shelved the plan due to a stock exchange downturn. The company reported revenues of $10.5 million for 1999 and employs 600 staff.
