How Yoola aims to 'build a bridge' between Western creators and China
Yoola, a US digital media and video distribution company, has signed deals with leading Chinese social media networks to adapt and localize global content for Chinese audiences. The deals aim to create new distribution and monetization channels for content creators and new content for channel partners. Yoola CEO Eyal Baumel sees this as a long-term strategy to unlock Chinas huge online population for western content creators. The barrier-to-entry into the Chinese market is high, but Yoola aims to serve as the bridge for these content creators and influencers. The deals come as social media companies in China focus on video to drive growth in revenues.
