About
TarriTech has developed an essential oil delivery system designed to prevent the decay of fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Prior to storage or transport, the fresh produce is briefly exposed to a controlled profile of volatile compounds released by the TarriTech delivery system. This combination of essential oils, each selected for its specific biological action, helps prevent the decay caused by several types of microorganisms. The companys system is tailored to specific crops and designed to integrate into existing packing house processes. The solution has already been commercialized with tangerines and has been implemented on a pilot scale with strawberries, peaches, nectarines, and persimmons.
