Bio Fence aims to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by infections that are spread as a result of contaminated environments. The company has developed a patented technology for antimicrobial and antiviral coating of surfaces. Bio Fences technology is based on a polymer designed to be incorporated into plastics, paints, and coatings. The polymer can withdraw biocides from disinfection solutions and stabilize them on the surface, where they are slowly released over a period of weeks into any organic matter that comes in contact with them. This process reduces the microorganism population on the treated surfaces, thereby lowering the presence of hazardous pathogens such as viruses, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, and Campylobacter. Bio-Fences technology prolongs the presence of biocides and can turn surfaces into active pathogen shields for weeks or even months.
