BreatheVision is an Israeli biotechnology start-up and the developer of SafeSed, a device designed for remote breathing monitoring. SafeSed is designed to accurately measure respiratory volume and patterns while also offering a device that is more cost effective and easily portable than those currently available. SafeSed uses a comprehensive set of variables to provide alerts in advance of adverse events in order to help prevent respiratory depression and respiratory compromise. Israeli start-up BreatheVision has developed a technology that remotely monitors patients breath, minimizing the exposure of medical staff to infectious diseases. The system uses triangular markers placed on the patients chest and abdomen to monitor respiratory rate and depth of breathing. The markers have a Bluetooth connection and transmit data to a tablet, computer, or smartphone. BreatheVision is currently focusing on COVID-19 patients and those recovering from surgery under anesthesia. The company will start a pilot program with Sourasky Medical Centers Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv and plans to launch two more pilots in the United States. BreatheVision has received grants from the Israel Innovation Authority.
