BrighTap Overview
BrighTap is an IoT water meter sensor and monitoring system that tracks water quality and consumption through an app and web-based data services. The BrighTap sensor can be attached to standard water taps, pipes, or hoses, transforming them into smart devices, or integrated as an OEM component in appliances like refrigerators, water bars, and faucets. Using proprietary turbine technology and analytics, BrighTap measures water flow and provides real-time data on water quality, consumption (liters/gallons), temperature, and costs. This information is displayed directly on the product and can be monitored via the BrighTap system to help users track their water usage and improve efficiency. Designed for households and organizations, BrighTap aims to raise awareness about water consumption and quality, encouraging more sustainable practices while helping reduce water bills.

Top awards for startups BwareIT, AseptoRay, Credithood
Three Israeli startups, AseptoRay, BwareIT, and Credithood, have recently won major awards. AseptoRay won first place in the Cleantech Open Global Ideas program for its technology to deactivate bacteria in liquids. BwareITs smart water meter sensor, BrighTap, won the innovation award at the UK Water Efficiency Product Awards 2017. The product attaches to any standard water tap, pipe, or hose to display water consumption and temperature in real time. BwareIT is seeking investment and plans to commercialize the product this year, possibly in partnership with a European company. They also have a pilot project scheduled for next year in Israel.

BrighTap, a smart water meter sensor made by BwareIT, won first place in the 2016 Startup Open competition. The sensor can be attached to any water tap, pipe, or hose and provides information on water quality and consumption. It topped over 1,000 startups from 101 countries. The competition recognizes promising young firms that have not yet raised outside capital. BrighTap was also featured as one of the 10 of the Worlds Hottest Startups of 2016 by CNBC. The companys founders will receive free airfare and accommodations to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in South Africa. BrighTaps product is similar to BreezoMeter, which won the grand prize in 2014 for measuring real-time air quality.
