Top awards for startups BwareIT, AseptoRay, Credithood
Three Israeli startups, AseptoRay, BwareIT, and Credithood, have recently won major awards. AseptoRay won first place in the Cleantech Open Global Ideas program for its technology to deactivate bacteria in liquids. BwareIT won a $50,000 first-place prize in the Unilever Innovation Foundry competition for its SmartH2O home water meter. Credithood received $25,000 as the top winner in the IATI & MasterCard Israel Technology Innovation awards for its crowdfunding and customer loyalty platform. The awards provide opportunities for growth and access to resources for the startups.

Israeli water-conservation device wins another prize
BwareITs smart water meter sensor, BrighTap, won the innovation award at the UK Water Efficiency Product Awards 2017. The product attaches to any standard water tap, pipe, or hose to display water consumption and temperature in real time. BwareIT is seeking investment and plans to commercialize the product this year, possibly in partnership with a European company. They also have a pilot project scheduled for next year in Israel.

BrighTap takes first place in GEN's Startup Open
BrighTap, a smart water meter sensor made by BwareIT, won first place in the 2016 Startup Open competition. The sensor can be attached to any water tap, pipe, or hose and provides information on water quality and consumption. It topped over 1,000 startups from 101 countries. The competition recognizes promising young firms that have not yet raised outside capital. BrighTap was also featured as one of the 10 of the Worlds Hottest Startups of 2016 by CNBC. The companys founders will receive free airfare and accommodations to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in South Africa. BrighTaps product is similar to BreezoMeter, which won the grand prize in 2014 for measuring real-time air quality.
