David Rosenblatt, a member of the board of the American Technion Society, has started an angel investor group called I-Lab Angels to support Israeli start-ups at the countrys research universities. The group, which also includes Matt Golub and Danielle Capalino, has made 14 investments totaling roughly $6 million in its first 20 months. The investments have been made in various sectors including biotech, artificial intelligence, sports media, and material science. The groups mission is to support the growth of Israels major research universities by investing in their entrepreneurial students, professors, and alumni.
