Study Shows Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Protocols Can Improve Cognitive Function in Stroke Patients
The Sagol Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Research announced study results indicating that its hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) protocols induce significant improvement in cognitive function of stroke patients. The study showed that the HBOT protocols supply the energy needed for brain tissue recovery, regardless of the stroke location or cause. The study evaluated the sustained impact of the centers HBOT protocols on various cognitive domains and found that 86% of stroke patients achieved clinically significant improvement in their cognitive function. The memory domain showed the most prominent improvements. The study highlights the potential for treating stroke-related cognitive deficits as brain wounds and the ability to recover injured brain tissue even years after the stroke.
