PureSight Technologies is dedicated to providing a safe online environment for children. The company aims to help parents protect their children by becoming involved in their online lives through education and software tools. PureSights flagship product, PureSight Multi, enables parents to protect their children from cyber bullies, internet predators, and unsolicited adult-oriented websites on PCs and mobile devices. Developed over the past decade by content experts and communication psychology experts, PureSights tools are based on two proprietary technologies: Active Chat Inspector (ACI) and Active Content Recognition (ACR). ACI identifies and blocks undesirable contacts and potentially harmful discussions originating from cyber bullies. ACR dynamically classifies and blocks undesirable websites.

Microsoft aims to assist detection of sexual predators in multiplayer games

Microsoft has developed a technique to detect online predators in multiplayer video games and report them to law enforcement. The program, called Project Artemis, uses artificial intelligence to scan conversations and flag suspicious ones for human review. The tool will be distributed for free to nonprofit organizations, gaming companies, and messaging service developers. Microsoft worked with Dartmouth College and messaging services like Kik and Roblox to develop the technique. The technology aims to combat unwanted sexual solicitation of children online. PureSight Owl 2011 is a parental control software that aims to protect children from cyberbullying and inappropriate online behavior. It offers features such as content filtering, internet scheduling, and instant messaging protection. The software monitors and filters chat traffic for AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and Trillian, and can block use of Skype, IRC, or Jabber/Google Talk.
