SICK Sensors Israel (SIL) was founded in 2006. The Company is located in Tzur Yigal Industrial Park and has 29 employees. SIL offers a range of comprehensive solutions & consulting, starting from the characterizing and planning of products and projects to final installation of the products and solutions at the client's plant. SICK Israel also has an R&D and production department for capacitive encoders as a result of the 2006 acquisition of Netzer Precision Motion Sensors, a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality performance position encoders. Netzer continues to develop its Electric Encoder proprietary technology, which has a broad range of applications such as defense, homeland security, aerospace, and instrumentation motion control requirements.

German sensor maker Sick opens €10m Israeli R&D ctr

Sick AG has set up its first R&D center in Israel, called Sick Sensors, with an investment of �10 million. The R&D center will develop rotary motion sensors. Sick AG acquired the industrial automation technology, development and manufacturing capacity, and global marketing rights of Netzer Precision Motion Sensors Ltd. The CEO of Netzer, Beto Catz, was appointed CEO of Sick Sensors. The article was published on January 25, 2006.
