Israel's DSPG to be acquired by Synaptics for $600 million
American electronics company Synaptics announced its intentions to acquire Israeli audio systems manufacturer DSPG for about $600 million. The acquisition price of $22 per share is 18% higher than its trading value on the previous Friday. DSPG shares spiked 17.1% in early trading. The acquisition was unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies. DSPG is a publicly traded company that manufactures voice recognition technology embedded in various chips used in smart home products and voice activation products.
